Winter Along the Gunflint Photography Workshop

By late February, Lake Superior can get covered in pack ice. Thick sheets of pack ice get pushed up onto the shore making a maze of blue ice to walk through. This ice also makes an interesting subject to photograph — the deep blue of the ice contrasts with the splash of color during the sunrise. Combine the icy Lake Superior sunrises with the frozen inland areas along the Gunflint Trail, an icy inland river snowshoe to an 80-foot frozen waterfall that ice climbers climb, and snow-covered overlooks for an inland sunsets and you have my Winter Along the Gunflint Photography Workshop. Based in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
