For 2023, I’m happy to announce two calendars! The first is the one I do every year called the Northern Landscape Calendar. The second is a Canoe County calendar of just canoe images!

Northern Landscapes Calendar 2023

Somedays, when the sun comes up over Lake Superior it makes it so worthwhile to have gotten out of bed.

Description: A year worth of landscape images from northern Minnesota. These photos, taken by landscape photographer and outdoor photography instructor Bryan Hansel, cover a wide range of subjects in the northland.

Images take you from winter in Gooseberry State Park along the frozen shore to the Grand Marais area. As the spring starts, the images cover Artist’s Point in Grand Marais, Temperance River State Park and perfect reflections near the Gunflint Trail. The perfect reflections continue on the Gunflint followed by a trip to a lake near the Boundary Waters. Fall takes you to the Caribou Rock hiking trail and Carlton Peak. A calm Lake Superior and a Etruscan Vase Sun mirage in November’s image. The wintery shoreline at Cascade River State Park wraps up the calendar in December.

This unique calendar makes a great gift for lovers of Minnesota and canoe country.

Minnesota Canoe Country Calendar 2023

Description: Canoe images from northern Minnesota and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

This canoe-specific calendar starts on the Junco River, journeys to Elbow Lake and then onto Sea Gull Lake. We’re back to the Junco River with an image that was cropped to fit the cover of Sierra Magazine. Then we visit the moon in the Belt of Venus on Crescent Lake and we stay there for the next image as well.

The only night image is northern lights over West Bearskin Lake. My favorite canoe image of all time is the next on Cherokee. Then there’s a sunset on Sea Gull. Ensign Lake makes an October appearance. Gaskin Lake is in there, and then in December, we visit East Bearskin.
