I used to occasionally fly aerial photography missions to various locations around Lake Superior. On one, after we finished the job that we had to do, we flew over Split Rock Lighthouse. The pilot circled the lighthouse a couple of times and I snagged a bunch of shots. This is one of my favorites. The conditions were just perfect for this shot and look at all that amazing blue water and ice! It was such a sweet flight. On a side note, shooting out of an open window in a plane going 100+mph in sub-zero temps in the middle of February is chilly. It think at that speed the windchill is like -60°F.
Note: I recommend a max size of 16×24 on this image. I might be able to take it larger on canvas.
