Northern Landscapes Calendar 2018

 In Newsletter

I’m excited to release my Northern Landscapes Calendar for 2018. The images (see below) range from the Grand Marais lighthouse in sea smoke and getting hammered by a rare March gales to a canoe on Devil Track Lake at sunset to two months of fall colors. All the images are from the north shore of Lake Superior except for a river image from the south shore.  Most of the images are from the Grand Marais area. Two are from areas that I hadn’t photographed before. Like most of my images this year, there’s a slight change in style — things are slightly more moody than the calendars for past years. I spent the year seeking new lighting conditions and darker cloud structures in my work and I think this is reflected in the images selected for the calendar.

The selection process was helped this year by my Facebook friends on my Facebook page. Well over 400 responses were tallied to help me select which images to include. While I couldn’t make everyone happy by selecting everyone’s favorites, I did narrow down the images with the help. A few favorites were left out of the calendar in the end, because I just wasn’t feeling a good flow when I included them. In the end, the selections I made make more sense and the images flow from month to month. I appreciate the help I received. I helped me clarify the vision for this calendar.

I hope you enjoy this calendar. I’m excited about it. While I loved my 2017 calendar, I think this is a stronger calendar with images that I’m more than proud of.

I’ve decided to make Lulu my exclusive distributor this year again, because they do such a good job at printing, shipping and taking the orders. They also have excellent customer service and will help you with any problems you experience. I buy my calendars from them, too, so I’ll be stocking up for Christmas gifts as well. This is the second of three calendars that I’ll offer this year.

These calendars make great Christmas gifts. The entire reason I started doing these was so I would have gifts to give to my family. I’m thankful for all the support you’ve given me that allows me to continue to photograph and sell these calendars.
