Lake Effect Snow for Lake Superior in MN

Three days of lake effect snow from Lake Superior has turned the Northshore of Lake Superior in MN into a winter wonderland. America’s North Coast is under 2 to 3 and maybe more feet of snow after these two days. And NOAA is predicting another 4-8 inches of snow.

Lake Effect Snow on Superior National Golf Course in MN

Superior National Golf Course in Lutsen, MN became a winter adventure for snowshoeing and cross country skiing as the Lutsen Winter Center finally got enough snow to put in their cross country ski trails. By yesterday afternoon, the snow was up to our knees!

With the roads in a slippery hazardous condition many of the resort had trouble shuttling their guest down from the ski hill. Here, Shannon Perkins, an employee of Lutsen Resort, hands out steaming hot chocolate to Lutsen Resort’s guests as they waited for the next shuttle to come along. Even with unnormal wait times for shuttles, everyone was in a great mood. The snow just kept coming.
