On the Job with a New Lens Baby Composer

Today, I was shooting a few pictures of Lutsen Resort’s new WatersMeet Massage and Spa center, and I was having a hard time building the pictures that I really wanted, so I decided to slap my new Lens Baby Composer on my camera.

The Lens Baby Composer is essentially a Lens Baby 2.0 with a slick new housing that allows the photographer to set the focal point and leave it where you want it. The best part is that it doesn’t look like Frankenstein’s monster like the old 3G did.

The Composer is also able to switch between the lens type. It comes with the standard glass lens which is the same as a 2.0, but you can buy a pinhole and a plastic lens. I purchased the plastic lens in addition to the glass lens. It creates a very dreamy look, but I need to play with it more to figure out how to make pictures with it.

This lens is a gem. If you’re looking for a new lens to add some excitement into your life, think about buying a Composer!

Effective use of the lensbaby optics here. The composer looks like a nice improvement. While the 3G made sense, it was a pretty clunky looking device. Have fun!

I like it. Very soothing. I could use a place like that. Thanks.

Thanks! I’ve been shooting with the Composer even more, and just love it. Still haven’t got the hang of the Holga-like plastic lens I bought for it, but we’ll see.

    Hi Bryan,

Beautiful shot. We love to hear stories like yours. It would be great to see more of your photography.

By the way, it has come to my attention that a small number of the plastic optics we sent out were flawed. If you continue to have problems with yours, please get in touch with me and we will send you a new one. I apologize for the hassle if this is the case.

    Hi Sam,

Thanks for stopping by and the compliment! I’ll be posting some new lb shots in the coming weeks, and I’ll let you know about the plastic lens.
