Rock on Ice

Rock on Ice
These two pictures are from the photography workshop that I taught last weekend. These are my two most favorite images that I created over the weekend. I’ll post a longer blog entry in the near future with more pictures. I shot over 325 images over the two days, so I’m sure I’ll find some good surprises.
Lake Superior Winter Sunrise

Finding a sunrise when there is no sunrise could be the title of this photo. Just a touch of color appeared in the sky just after the sunrise. I used a 2 stop ND grad to darken the sky and help bring out the color. This will also allow me a little more latitude in post if I decide to work on the image to make a print.

The rock on ice looks really cool. I liked the way the photograph looks seamless. What photo editing software did you use here?

Just the standard software. The image is pretty much straight from the camera.
